ILOILO City – Let us take a moment to express our appreciation for the love, support, and strength that our families bring to our lives as we are celebrating the 2023 International Day of Families on ‘Families and Demographic Change’ today with the local theme: “Pamilyang Pilipino: Pagtugon sa Nagbabagong Pananaw at Panahon.”
Ms. Katherine Joy M. Lamprea, division chief of the Protective Services Division (PSD) welcomes the participants which include members of the Regional Inter-Agency for Filipino Families, the Regional Inter-Agency Coordinating and Monitoring Committee, and DSWD staff from other divisions.
“I hope that each of us will be enlightened about why we need to celebrate the International Day of Families. We know for sure that the celebration of this activity aims to foster equality, sharing of domestic responsibilities, and employment opportunities,” she said.
Lamprea also said that let us continue to work together to build a world where every family is valued, protected, and empowered.
On the other hand, resource speaker Christopher C. Montaño, division manager of the Human Rights Education and Promotion Unit of the Commission on Human Rights 6 (CHR-6) discussed the Basic Human Rights of Filipino Families and the Impact of Demographic Change on Families during the said event.
