The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program endorsed the livelihood grant of 6 Department-accredited SLP associations in the Municipality of Leon last March 8, 2023.Of the six associations, 3 of which are under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program for the implementation of the Zero Hunger Program Convergence Budgeting (PCB) Project. The funded projects are a bakeshop, vegetable production, and milk processing to be established in the barangays of Lanag, Carolina, and Talacuan. The enterprise implementation is in partnership with the Philippine Carabao Center and TESDA VI.
PAMANA associations in Leon town, on the other hand, received a total of ₱900,000.00 for their proposed projects on Livestock Supplies and Community Store, Rice Milling Business, and Community Enterprise composed of Banana Production, Vermicomposting, Banana Chips Processing. PAMANA projects are located in barangays of Nagbangi, Siol Norte and Tacuyong Sur.
The activity was attended by Mayor Ma. Lina Cabana-Holipas, PCC Regional Director Arn Granada, SLPA’s President and Treasurer, Barangay Official representative, Acting MSWDO Leah Zaragosa, and SLP Project Development Officer Mary Jane Tibes.
