TAPAZ, Capiz – Sixteen members of Capiz Organization of OFW Family Circle and PAMANA groups received their livelihood funding from the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program last March 22, 2023, at Tapaz Municipal Hall. Members of the OFW Family Circle each received ₱15,000 for their proposed livelihood projects. The local organization is a part of the town’s CY 2022 target sector for the provision of livelihood assistance.
On the other hand, PAMANA groups each received ₱300,000 worth of livelihood funds for their proposed communal enterprises. Lahug PAMANA Livelihood Association will establish a community store, while the Katipunan PAMANA Livelihood Association is set to manage an agricultural products trading enterprise. The associations are identified as Conflict-Affected Areas and Conflict-Vulnerable Areas in line with the program’s PAMANA implementation.
Present at the event were OIC Municipal Mayor Engr. Neriza G. Pacenio, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Josie Cambel, SLP Regional Social Marketing Officer Willard O. Ochon, SLP Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for Finance Shanesia E. Ramos, and Capiz SLP Provincial Office headed by Provincial Team Leader Ailyn B. Zerrudo, Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Anthonette Joy Hope V. Layson, and Project Development Officer Alvin C. Semillano.
The DSWD SLP team also participated in the morning radio segment of a local community radio station – Bakas Tapaz 99.7 FM where Regional Social Marketing Officer Willard Ochon discussed the Sustainable Livelihood Program and its implementation in the municipality.
The program’s technical staff also participated in a project visit with the Market Vendors Association of Tapaz (MaVENTA). The association, composed of Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) beneficiaries, is implementing a savings and loan initiative within their organization.###(WOOchon/SLPRPMO)
