ILOILO City – The DSWD Field Office VI through the Regional Area-Based Standards Network (ABSNET) conducted an election of officers for the Regional Area-Based (RAB) this Calendar Year 2021.
The election was spear headed by the Field Office Standards Section during last week’s second-semester meeting as mandated under DSWD Memorandum Circular 4 Series of 2018 or “G
uidelines in the Organization, Mobilization, and Strengthening of ABSNET.”
Meliton Sillador Jr., the Executive Director of Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. (KNFI) was elected as the new RAB Chairperson. He will hold the position for three consecutive years. Sillador will represent Region VI in the upcoming National ABSNET (NAB) election this month.
The DSWD’s general objective is to institutionalize the ABSNET structure that would strengthen cooperation and coordination among Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs). This aims to ensure the quality implementation of Social Welfare and Development (SWD) programs and services for the disadvantaged and marginalized sectors of society.
Moreover, strengthening the ABSNET will promote meaningful participation of the intermediaries as partners of DSWD along with standards development, promotions and compliance.//
