San Enrique, Iloilo – Eight beneficiaries of Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) officially open their eatery to the public today. Seven of them are women and all are solo parents. They decided to use their LAG assistance of P15,000 each to start a group business.
With a total budget of P120,000, the Solo Parent Eatery was put up. They use the fund to buy utensils, appliances and other materials and food equipment while the LGU provided a venue to start their business.
The Solo Parents Eatery is located in front of Mary Help of Christian Parish Church in Poblacion Ilaya of the Municipality.
The ribbon cutting and opening activity was attended by the Municipal Mayor Hon. Rosario Mediatrix Fernandez, MSWDO Regina Dativo with other LGU staff.
SLP Social Marketing Officer Therese Fely Legaste, Iloilo Provincial Coordinator Anthony Laruan, PMEO Alejo Voluntate III and PDO Julie Ann Surmaco were also present during the activity. Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) Chairman on Extension and Community Development Mr. Giefred Ian Paniza also joined the activity as implementation partner for the improvement of the enterprise.
Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) is one of the recovery and rehabilitation programs of the government to serve families whose livelihood were affected due to the quarantine measures amid the health crisis. Qualified beneficiaries of LAG is provided with financial assistance not exceeding P15,000 and prioritizes households with low-income or whose small business has been affected by the pandemic./
