ANTIQUE – Thirty- two households under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI graduated from the program in Aninni-y here this afternoon.
These households have no more children to be monitored by the program or no longer have children aged 0-18 years old.
Parent Leader Imelda Sumugat of Brgy. Igbalge here said the program was a blessing to her family especially for the health and education of their four children. In fact, two of her children had graduated already in college while the two others are still in third and first year college, respectively.
The family has been on the program for more than nine years and they are ready to graduate since they knew that 4Ps is just a temporary aid from our government.
“We learned many good things from the program especially the Family Development Session which help me to be empowered and responsible parent,” she said.
The 4Ps is a human development measure of the national government that provides conditional cash grants to the poorest of the poor, to improve the health, nutrition, and the education of children aged 0-18. It is patterned after the conditional cash transfer (CCT) schemes in Latin American and African countries, which have lifted millions of people around the world from poverty.
