The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 6 successfully conducted the Yakap Bayan Orientation Program and Planning Workshop in Barbaza, Antique on February 19.
The Local Government Unit of Antique was identified as the model LGU of the program in the region.
The activity was attended by the members of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) and other stakeholders who are engaged in the program, wherein a one-year implementation plan was formulated.
The workshop was conducted by the Social Technology Bureau with the technical support of the SocTech Unit of the DSWD FO6.
Barbaza Mayor Gerry Necor likewise graced the activity and welcomed the participants.
Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, meanwhile gave her message through a virtual platform.
Yakap Bayan Program is a holistic intervention that aims to assist the Recovering Persons Who Used Drugs (RPWUDs) in their recovery journey from surrendering, to treatment or rehab, to aftercare and to social reintegration to their families and communities.
At present, a total of 67 RPWUDs are under the Yakap Bayan program in Barbaza.//dswdfo6
