The DSWD-6 led by Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre continues to comply with health protocols in conducting events such as the department’s 70th anniversary as the threat of coronavirus disease remains.
The events in-lined with the anniversary were done virtually to avoid mass gatherings of stakeholders, partners, and employees. The number of people attending the actual events is limited.
This year’s theme is DSWD @70: Kabalikat ng mga Mahihirap sa Panahon ng Pandemya.
Though Iloilo City is placed under the Modified General Community Quarantine, Director Macapobre oftentimes reminds all the staff to follow health protocols including wearing of facemask and face shields and proper handwashing.
In the recent national awarding of the PaNata Ko sa Bayan (Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan Awards for Model LGU Implementing Kalahi-CIDSS (Culasi, Antique) and Outstanding LGU Implementing Sustainable Livelihood Program-Employment Facilitation Model (Balasan, Iloilo) participants were limited only to few people.
Strictly no handshake and handing out of plaques for the winners as part of the department’s measure. The winners got their plaque on their own.
The national awarding was done via teleconference at the DSWD Central Office and Zuri Hotel here. In the said event, participants were obliged to wear facemasks, face shields, and bring their own alcohol.
Under the current IATF guidelines, mass gatherings in areas under the modified general community quarantine are permitted, provided that only 50 percent of the venue’s seating capacity will be occupied.
The attendees in the anniversary mass at the Regional Office is also regulated. However, all the employees were able to attend it since it was telecast online.
The Hinon-anon kag Pagbalikid quiz bee was also done virtually.
The PRAISE, Loyalty, and PaNata Ka awarding set on February 10, 2021, will be done online. #
