Elmer Andrade of Tabun-acan, Pilar, Capiz, receives his SAP cash grant.
Today, more than 900 additional families in Pilar will get their SAP aid.

Elmer, a laborer and a father to a two-year-old toddler, says he would usually work in farms, help out in harvest season and cut and haul sugarcane.

“I can finally put a roof on top of our makeshift house. Typhoon Ursula damaged our house back in December,” he said.

Elmer gets help from his wife, also a hardworking woman, who at times, serves as househelp when needed to augment their income.

According to him, the family also received aid from the Local Government Unit. “Pilar LGU gave us rice, pork and noodles.”

“Thank you to the government for remembering us. Back when Typhoon Yolanda hit Pilar, you also helped us,” he said in vernacular./dswd6
