No more sleepless night and long walks at the rocky and hilly roads just to submit updated report to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Office in town of Madalag, Aklan.

This after Pantawid Extension Office was built by 4Ps members in Barangay Panipiason to serve better for their Indigenous Peoples (IPs) co-members without taking risk in going down to the town proper.

Barangay Panipiason is one of the identified Geographical Isolated and Dis-advantage Areas (GIDA) in Madalag where most of the IPs known as Panay Bukidnon are living. The area is almost 25 kilometers away from the town and motorcycle is the only means of transportation.

According to Parent Leader Jinabelle Terrano, the extension office was developed and built by the community through ‘Dagyaw’ or ‘Bayanihan System’. Dagyaw is a local dialect, which means a call for unity to work with a purpose in the community.

“The office is very advantage to us because each member could already know where to go if there is a need to submit their report”, she said.

The office is also a good place where they could conduct their meetings and monthly Family Development Session (FDS).

“This also serve as a second home for our other members who could not go home earlier because of some emergencies”, she ended.//MGC
