Married life is not as easy as you’ve been dreaming of. You have to feed your family by all means. As a high school graduate, Maria Cecelia Love Gabasa of Sibunag, Guimaras has been struggling in looking for jobs.
Her husband received only a minimum wage as a laborer in a nearby construction site. They have two elementary children to feed and provide for their school needs.
There were some instances that Maria Cecelia had to work on a farm so they could have rice to eat. She even accepted laundry jobs, too.
A big blessing when the family has been included as a beneficiary of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Many opportunities had knocked on their door like the free training for Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) where she was able to finish her skills training in Security Services NC 1 in 2017.
“I’m blessed and proud being a 4Ps member nga mahatag ko na ang mga kinahanglanon sang akon pamilya,” she said.
Maria Cecelia did not let the chance to pass, she then applied to
several companies in Iloilo City. She was hired and later got a stable job until now.
The lady guard can now say that their life is much better now compared to before. She owes this to DSWD as their life-saving agency.//
