Pantawid Pamilya parent leaders (PL) through their association has put up their own sari-sari store along Bangga Mauring, Poblacion, Leganes, Iloilo to cater the basic needs of their fellow program members.

The association has 28 members from 18 barangays of the said town and now supplying goods to 25 more small stores owned by their fellow beneficiaries.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the help of Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) provides capital seed to each member while our partner agency- the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has provided technical assistance to it’s generating project.

According to Rogelia Dormitorio, parent leader of Brgy. Gua-an, Leganes each member has its own scheduled duty so that they still have time for their family and members.

She added that the store helped them increase their generation income especially during pay outs where they encouraged most of their members to patronize their own products.

Rogelia also said that they are planning to sell rice since they have an additional rice subsidy of 1,200 every after two months.//dswd//Montesa Grino-Caoyonan #DSWDMayMalasakit
