The DSWD6 bagged nine national awards in the just concluded celebration of its 66th Anniversary.
These include Gawad Huwaran, Gawad Kalihim, Gawad para sa Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo: Tatak Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serisyo sa Larangan ng Disaster Response, Gawad Para sa Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo: Gawad DSWDMayMalasakit, Most Promising RLRC Focal, 2016 Regional Learning Resource Center Innovate Award, GAPAS, and two Salamat Po awards.
The awards were handed by no less than Secretary Judy Taguiwalo in a ceremony called PRAISE 2016 intended for the employees held earlier today (Friday, February 24) in Malate, Manila.
Rosalina Lorque, head of Home for Girls, was one of the awardees of Gawad Huwaran for Mahusay, Wasto at Responsableng Lingkod Bayani.
It is an award given to an employee who rendered extraordinary work performanceand exemplary demonstration of three core competencies in her work execution.
The Disaster Response Management Unit headed by Rosario Sanagustin was one of the recipients of the Gawad Para sa Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo on Disaster Response.
It is an award given to recognize the agency’s unit which performed quick and prompt delivery of effective and efficient operations along disaster preparedness and response.
Mary Ann Dap-og, budget assistant, was one of the awardees of Gawad Kalihim. It is given to a DSWD employee as a source of inspiration and motivation for other employees to emulate.
Dap-og has worked with DSWD for nearly 22 years despite no job security.
The Social Marketing Unit (SMU) headed by May Rago-Castillo was recognized as one of the top three in the Gawad para sa Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo: #DSWDMayMalasakit.
It is given to recognize the agency’s unit for the proactive move through the use of social media in informing and engaging the public on social welfare assistance and other services of the Department.
Ma. Eloise Garcia of the Institutional Development Division (IDD) was recognized as the Most Promising focal person for the Regional Learning Resource Center (RLRC).
The RLRC, then led by Josie Cambel, also won the 2016 Innovate Award as third placer. It is given to RLRCs which implement innovative projects to improve their centers.
Aside from these awards which were given for internal staff, the region also won two Salamat Po awards—Signpost Philippines led by Febe Ibojos as Best Non-Government Organization (NGO) volunteer and Julie Taniongon of Igsoro, Bugasong as Best Individual volunteer.
The awarding for partners and volunteers was done last February 21.
Further, Calinog Local Government Unit (LGU) won the GAPAS award (Gawad Paglilingkod sa Sambayanan). It is an award given to an LGU having an outstanding program employment facilitation model under Sustainable Livelihood Program
The event carried the theme, “DSWD@66: Sama-samang Paglilingkod na may Malasakit./dswd6
