Five Non-Government Agencies received their Certificate of Registration and Registration Certificate and License to Operate after renewing their engagement to the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD-6) every three years.
During today’s flag raising ceremony, Regional Director Rebecca Geamala has personally handed in their certificates based on its category.
Among these organizations were Family Planning Organization of the Philippines, Inc. (FPOP), Taos-Puso Foundation, Inc., and Ulikid Parents Organizations, Inc. which are under the Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) and Signpost Philippines Inc. and Iloilo Children Welfare Foundation, Inc. under the Social Welfare Agencies (SWAs).
Geamala said SWADAs were being renewed for satisfactorily complying with the requirements to operate as a social welfare and development agency implementing Community Based Services for Children, Youth, Family and Community in accordance with Section 23, Republic Act 4373 “An Act to regulate the Practice of Social Work and the Operation of Social Work Agencies in the Philippines and for Other Purposes.
On the other hand, Geamala said SWAs were renewed and recognized for its effort in contributing to the upliftment of poor, vulnerable, disadvantaged sector of our society./dswd//MGC
