A total of 145 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, the government of the Philippine’s version of the Conditional Cash Transfer, are now new leaders.
They have completed the Capability Building Level 1 handled by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI- Institutional Development Division which focused on leadership.
These newly-trained parent leaders who came both from provinces of Guimaras and Iloilo underwent a three-day training.
Aside from leadership, it also included active citizenship, familiarization of skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue social accountability.
According to Richard Dean Layon, Training Specialist, the newly-trained parent leaders are part of the 303 parent leaders targeted to be trained this year.
Layon added the remaining 158 parents leaders from provinces of Aklan and Antique will be trained also within this month./dswd6/Montesa G. Caoyonan
