THE head of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI yesterday told women to be a “light to their family and community.”

“Women, be the light to your family and community. As woman, you should be able to radiate goodness to your spouse, to your children and to your community,” said regional director Geamala who graced the Women’s Month Celebration at the Regional Center for Women in Iloilo.

With being a “light,” Geamala said that women should be able to be a guide to their children and even offer insights to their partners as well as be good to their neighbourhood,

Geamala also called on women to ensure a deep relationship with God as it is essential in living a happy and successful life.

“Keep the faith in everything you do. It goings to be your shield,” Geamala said.

Also, she advised women to make sure that they maintain their beauty. “Women should be beautiful. I don’t mean that they should wear thick lipsticks and make-ups, beauty should be maintenance of one’s hygiene and the beauty of a good heart from within the self,” she said.
