Local social welfare and planning officers of local government units expressed appreciation to the DSWD’s Listahanan, which they said, is of big help to them especially in identifying beneficiaries of their programs and services for the poor.
At present, the staff of the National Household Targeting Unit of DSWD Field Office VI are going around the different provinces of the region to gather feedback from the LGUs and at the same time orient them on the upcoming 2nd Round Assessment of poor households.
“It provided us with readily available data that we can use in identifying beneficiaries of the programs and projects that we implemented,” said Aurora Lim, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer of Tibiao, Antique. It has not only saved their time and effort, but most importantly, resources because it ensured that the beneficiaries are the real poor, she added.
Participants from the provinces of Iloilo, Capiz and Antique also emphasized that the use of Listahanan database has improved their LGUs’ credibility because the project was initiated by DSWD and not influenced by any politician./dswd6/Wenna B. Bendol
