DSWD6 releases ₱2.9M livelihood grants in Capiz
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Sustainable Livelihood Program released ₱2,900,000 worth of seed capital funds to nine livelihood associations in Dumarao, Jamindan, and Ivisan, Capiz.
The recipients were nine Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations organized by DSWD which are engaged in enterprises such as Agricultural Supplies, Rice Retailing, Ginger Production, Livestock Fattening, and General Merchandising. Both Salcedo 4Ps Livelihood Association and NHA Livelihood Association received ₱345,000, Uswag Traciano SLP Association received ₱450,000, and Sitios Livelihood Association received ₱425,000 which were organized in Dumarao, Capiz. Subsequently, four individual livelihood referrals received ₱15,000 each to establish their approved livelihood projects.
Furthermore, other livelihood associations were also provided with livelihood grants in Jamindan, Capiz. Lucero 4Ps SLP Association received ₱375,000; Agbalagon Jaena Norte Livelihood Association received ₱200,000; Jaena Norte 4Ps Livelihood Association received ₱240,000 and Jaena Norte Sustainable Livelihood Association with ₱165,000; while, Balaring Livelihood Association in Ivisan received ₱300,000.
“The provision of seed capital funds to individuals like us who have no adequate means of livelihood is an empowering government initiative”, said Lemuel Pamoso, President of Lucero 4Ps SLP Association, during the turn over ceremony.
Dumarao Mayor Atty. Mateo C. Hachuela, Jamindan Mayor Mac Artur L. Valdemar, and Ivisan Mayor Felipe Neri N. Yap expressed their support for the implementation of the program in their respective municipalities and challenged the program participants to work together in making their own enterprises grow for economic sustainability.
Provincial Coordinator Ailyn B. Zerrudo, Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Anthonette Joy Hope V.
