Assistant Regional Director for Operations Dir. Arwin O. Razo gives the opening message during the conduct of Training on Trauma Informed Care for Older Persons Program for Personnel handling work for senior citizens.
“I think trauma informed care has been put into practice even before and developed into a continuing practice. Basically, it helps the survivors or our clients to develop their capacities on how they are going to manage the stress or cope with the stressful situations that they have or that they have gone through because of their experience in the past,” said Director Razo.
“As Social Workers and staff handling one of the vulnerable sectors, older persons, or senior citizens napaka-relevant ang practice na ito. Nandito yung building the trust, that means the trust along the professional relationship that we establish with our clients and when we build the relationship and trust with our clients, we will be able to start providing our clients and vulnerable sectors with that strategy and capacity to come up with the decision that is favorable for the self and the community,” he said.
Director Razo added, “We gradually empower our clients. As we continuously proceed with our tasks, we are able to restore and enhance the social functioning of every client whom we serve.”
