DSWD Conducts Focus Group Discussion on FACED Operational Manual in La Castellana
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducts a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on February 26, 2025, on the establishment of the Family Access Card in Emergencies and Disasters (FACED) Operational Manual for the Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The discussion gathered members of Quick Response Teams (QRTs), camp managers, and LGU staff, focusing on the implementation of FACED, a profiling tool designed to collect demographic and socioeconomic data of disaster-vulnerable and disaster-affected families, as well as post-disaster assessments on shelter damage and humanitarian assistance received.
This also helps track interventions provided by the LGU and other stakeholders during disaster response and early recovery activities, particularly in evacuation centers.
Project Development Officers Maria Theresa Bas-Prado and Dante Bolos from the DSWD Central Office led discussions on how FACED ensures timely and appropriate services for affected families.
The session was facilitated by DSWD Field Office VI staff, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of La Castellana, led by Emily Tan, who emphasized the importance of strengthening disaster-response efforts for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by the Kanlaon Volcano eruption.
Also present were Project Development Officers Slydel Bay-an and Tyrone Pantua, Information Technology Officer Marc Leo Butac, and Social Welfare Officer Joana Raconia, all from the DSWD Central Office./jam
