DSWD-6 endorses 1,148 4Ps household graduates to Iloilo City aftercare program
ILOILO CITY- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4PS) endorsed 1,148 4Ps household graduates to the aftercare program of the Iloilo City Government.
These households who just graduated this morning at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand came from 86 barangays of this city particularly in City Proper, La Paz-Lapuz, and Molo districts.
Present in the said activity are Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Arwin O. Razo, 4Ps Division Chief Belen P. Gebusion, Provincial Link (PL) of Iloilo-Guimaras Emile O. Octavio, Regional Case Manager Chloe Dawn Lagarto, along with all the 4Ps staff and representatives from the Iloilo City LGU.
Dir. Razo gave his congratulatory message to the beneficiaries who attained Level III well-being and 4Ps staff for the successful implementation of the program. Iloilo-Guimaras Provincial Link Emile Octavio presented the number of graduating households while 4Ps Division Chief Belen P. Gebusion confirmed the graduates and endorsed them to the LGU for aftercare services.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Officer Teresa Gelogo gladly congratulated everyone who made the event possible and all the household graduates who benefited from the government services, especially from the 4Ps program. She said the the LGU is ready to implement the aftercare services to be given to the 4Ps graduates particularly for their livelihood program to sustain their well-being.
TESTIMONIES
A testimony of hope and encouragement was given by a 4Ps beneficiary, Alejandra F. Dayaday, 48 years old, a single parent from Brgy. Boulevard, Molo, here, raised her three children alone while working and selling homemade products to sustain the needs of her family. Sharing that there is no such thing as forever especially being a 4Ps beneficiary, she promised to value the education of her children even if they are no longer part of the program.
Meanwhile, graduating beneficiary Conchita B. Libre,
51 years old, from Brgy. Rizal Pala-Pala Zone 2 expressed gratefulness to the DSWD and all the people behind this program.
“A huge thanks to the Lord, my family, and the 4Ps program for the unwavering support and assistance. As we leave the program, I am praying that your agency can help a lot more people in need,’ she stressed.
Also, Roxanne P. Mahilum, 55 years old, is a resident of Brgy. San Pedro Molo here said that she is greatly thankful for all the assistance and opportunities given by the 4Ps to her family, especially for the health and education of her children and the learnings she gains as a parent. * (SDA Focal Lobe Rose Chua)
