ILOILO – For the third time around, Liza Marie Burgos celebrated her birthday in one of the DSWD’s centers and residential care facilities.

This time, Liza celebrated her 41st birthday at the Regional Center for Women (RCW) in New Lucena, Iloilo while previously, she had it twice at the Home for Girls in Cabatuan, Iloilo even at the onset of the pandemic brought by COVID-19. Liza is a psychiatric nurse. She worked in a government hospital in Saudi Arabia for seven long years before she came home here for good.

“I worked there dealing with almost the same clients. I feel bad about their situation. I want these kids to be happy and feel that they are loved and wanted,” she said. Liza highlighted also that women especially those who were abandoned and abused should feel extra special this month as we are celebrating Women’s Month.//(photos taken by Center Head Remelyn S.
