The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI received earlier today a total of 5,000 family food packs augmentation from the Visayas Disaster Response Center.

This augmentation came as soon as Iloilo City and Iloilo Province were placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the pandemic.

“Understanding the gravity of the need of Iloilo City and Iloilo Province, we have already sought help from the DSWD Central Office to augment resources for the Ilonggos, “ Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre said.

The delivery today is only the first augmentation received by DSWD Western Visayas.

“We assure the Ilonggos that we will work hand in hand with LGUs in facing the pandemic by infusing our available resources,” said Director Macapobre./dswd6
