Belison, Antique – Ipil SLP Association celebrates their 1st anniversary as an association. Their meatshop project was funded by DSWD- Sustainable Livelihood Program in 2019.
Despite the pandemic, the association continues its operation. People in the barangay gather to buy their meat provision in a meat shop situated along the main highway every Tuesday and Saturday.
The association has 15 members with 2 Pantawid beneficiaries and 13 members under Listahanan identified poor and low income households.
They identified the meatshop project because most of the residents have backyard hog raising as source of livelihood but most of the people in the community still go to the Poblacion public market to buy meat. One of their members, Joan Flores works as a butcher and was elected as president of the association.
They started their operation on June 13, 2019. After one year of operation, the association collected and deposited a total rollback of P162,000.00 out of the P170,000.00 budget for Materials representing 17 heads of fattened hogs which they purchased from individual hog raisers in the barangay.
In order to ensure steady supply of fattened hog as their main product, the association in a resolution decided to grant individual loans to members amounting to P7,000.00 each for their own hog fattening project from which the association could buy from.
