ILOILO – Family of Rio and Nida Resulta from Altavas, Aklan is this year’s 2019 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya Regional Winner.
Nida said they are not expected that poor family like them will have this prestigious award through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
The family maintains an organic vegetable garden in their almost 1 hectare farm land. Their garden has been chosen as a demo farm of the municipality and other non-government organizations. Through their hard work, four of their children were already graduated from college and now working.
During the awarding ceremony today at SM City Iloilo, the family received P13,000 cash prize plus trophy and another 3,000 cash prize as provincial winner in the province of Aklan.
The family will be attending the National Family Day on Sunday in Manila together with two past national family winners of Iloilo.
Also today, other family awardees were Lucas family of Maayon, Capiz, and Lindayao family of Laua-an, Antique; both finalists, Cañonaso family of Leon, Iloilo as 3rd runner-up; Trifalgar family of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras as 2nd runner-up; Maquilan family of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental as 1st runner-up.
