CULASI, Antique — Around 100 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries from Mararison Island in Culasi, Antique received new slippers and bags from DSWD and SM City Foundation on Saturday (October 13).
Recipients were mostly children who are members of the Mararison Island Children’s Choir (MICC) which is managed by Joeryl Amaro.
The gift-giving activity was part of the Information Caravan conducted at the island on the same day. Beneficiaries were updated about the Pantawid Pamilya particularly the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). Common livelihood at the area are home stay accommodation, fishing and tour guiding.
Aside from gifts, the department also turned over the medicines and vitamins donated by Pediatrica Inc. to the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).
Punong Barangay Allan Macuja thanked all the staff for having the said activity. He recognized the effort of all the 4Ps members especially in their clean-up operation along shorelines to maintain the cleanliness of the island./dswd6/MGC
