THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI conducted its first ever performance contracting workshop.
“It is a milestone for us. In the past, this has been done in smaller groups. However, this workshop stirs every employee to move towards the same direction and pace in a faster way to achieve our goal,” said Rebecca P. Geamala, regional director of DSWD Field Office VI.
The Organizational and Individual Performance Contract Crafting Workshop was conducted with both regional and provincial heads as well as program heads at Hotel Del Rio in Iloilo City for three days.
The crafting of the performance contracts was geared towards achievement of DSWD organizational outcomes:
• Well-being of poor families improved; Rights of the poor and vulnerable sectors promoted and protected;
• Immediate relief and early recovery of disaster victims and survivors ensured;
• Continuing compliance of social welfare and development (SWD) agencies to standards in the delivery of social welfare services ensured; and,
• Delivery of social welfare and development (SWD) programs by local government units (LGUs) through local social welfare and development offices (LSWDOs) improved.
“Each person should be contributing to the attainment of the organizational goals. Each is important—from utility workers, drivers to those handling administrative, technical and management jobs,” said Geamala.
The activity was spearheaded by Policy and Plans Division headed by Evangeline Felecio who also is the concurrent Assistant Regional Director for Administration.
