The Department of Social Welfare and Development VI -Social Pension Program under the Protective Services Unit recently held a Capability Building Workshop with the Office of the Senior Citizens Association (OSCA) and the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP).

The event gathered the OSCA heads and FSCAP presidents from the different districts of Iloilo province for a week-long workshop which started June 26 – 29, 2017 in Hotel Del Rio, Iloilo City.

Spearheaded by the Social Pension Focal, Ms. Judith Tanate-Barredo, the activity started with the orientation on programs and services for older persons. Also, Updates regarding the social pension program including the status of liquidation and schedules of pay-out were discussed.

The highlights of the event include the workshop on Social Pension beneficiary profiling and was concluded through the production of action plans in the part of the Municipal Social Welfare and development Office (MSWDO) and the Social Pension Focals./dswd/XzyrabelleServento/
