ILOILO CITY-Fifty graduates of Skills Training under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD-6) received their certificates of completion during their closing program held at the Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC) here Thursday last week.
Graduates are beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the city who availed the training such as shielded metal arc welding and electrical installation and maintenance.
Asst. Regional Director for Operations Delia V. Bagolcol was one of the guest speakers who inspired everyone to use their skills wisely and grab the opportunities that may knock at their doors.
Bagolcol also thanked partners for helping the department on its implementation particularly the Technical Education and Skills Department Authority (TESDA) and the Iloilo City Government headed by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.

START –UP CAPITAL
Apart from the certificates, beneficiaries were also given tool kits as start-up capital for their livelihood.
SLP beneficiary Elie Mag-usara of North Baluarte who graduated from electrical installation and maintenance said their training gave him a lot of learnings which he could use particularly in looking for jobs.
In fact, he said a big cable company has already hired him after he graduated from the said training.//dswd6//MGC
