The Department of Social Welfare and Development recently inaugurated a P4.8 million Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) projects in Roxas City. Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) projects in Roxas City.
DSWD Assistant Secretary Hope Hervilla and Regional Director Rebecca Geamala attended Tuesday the inauguration of the P4 million 2- storey Crisis Center and P800, 000 Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) with amenities.
The two projects which were funded in 2014 are nestled at the Inzo Arnaldo Village. Hervilla said the completion of the two infrastructures is timely. “One of the main thrusts of President Rodrigo Duterte and DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo is thestrengthening of the centers in the different regions.”
Hervilla,an activist and womens’ advocate before joining the government said it is also their dream that every local government unit will have its own center to cater the needs of the women and children especially the victims of violence and abuse.
“I have been working with women and children for a decade. Our clients need this kind of facility,”she said. The P4.8 million projects is only part of the P13.2 million projects under the BUB-Sustainable Livelihood
Program and BUB-Protective Services Bureau provided to Roxas City. (KC/DSWD)
