Go healthy, go sports.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD-6) through the Social Welfare Employees Association of the Philippines (SWEAP) has initiated a Basketball Tournament which was participated by the employees from the different programs.

SWEAP President Daryl Alfuente said this is in one way to maintain camaraderie as well as to promote sportsmanship and healthy lifestyle among the employees.

“We need also to give time to our physically fitness. We could serve better to our clients if we have healthy and stronger bodies”, he said.

Alfuente added the games were scheduled every afternoon at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the association conducted a basketball exhibition among female employees of the Department at the Molo Terminal Gym in Molo, Iloilo City. With only 2-point shot, Iloilo POO wins over RPMO team.

Alfuente said with the better results, the association is also eyeing additional sports games for female staff.//dswd/Montesa G. Caoyonan
