Assistant Secretary for Operations and Programs Group Camilo Gudmalin stressed the importance of data collected in the field to know the extent of the affected areas in Western Visayas.

Gudmalin is in Iloilo to closely monitor the region’s Typhoon Ruby preparation and know the magnitude of displacements. The needs of the victims, relief assistance provided, and the number of affected families and persons in Western Visayas were also being looked into.

The collected data is necessary for the planning and implementing disaster response for the region’s affected municipalities.

DSWD data users includes Secretary Corazon Soliman, President Benigno Aquino III, Department of Budget and Management, NDRRMC and international organizations for relief operation purposes./dswd6/Maricar M. Calubiran
