As the number of evacuees due to Typhoon Ruby increases, the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD6) established four repacking sites in Iloilo to fast track the delivery of family food packs at the evacuation centers in the region as other provinces in Western Visayas are still under Public Storm Signal Nos. 1 and 2.

As of 5:00 a.m. today (December 8), Aklan and Capiz are still under Signal No. 2 while Iloilo and Antique are under Signal No. 1 based on the latest forecasting of the Philipine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Yesterday, Macapobre together with DSWD Assistant Secretary and Western Visayas Coach Monitor Camilo Gudmalin conducted a surprise visit at the repacking site in Barotac Viejo to personally monitor the ongoing operation.

The two officials also doubled check the available stocks if all are in good conditions, particularly the rice and canned goods.
