THE Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI earned three awards for its implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program during the recently-held Program Review and Evaluation in Legaspi City, Albay.

Of the 17 regions, DSWD6 tied up with DSWD IX on first place in the “Regions with Highest Absorption Rate” category which looked into the utilization and rate of obligation of Pantawid Pamilya funds for the whole year of 2013.

DSWD6 placed second in the “Regions with Highest Payout Rate” award covering the cash grant releases made last year.

DSWD6 also ranked third as “Best Performing Region in Capability Building Implementation” based on the following criteria: training participation rate, number of trained participants and number of trainings conducted.

Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre of DSWD6 said the awards are in recognition of the hard work, support and dedicated service of all employees and staff.

“Everyone contributed in these achievements and this should serve as a challenge for us to further strengthen our service delivery and program implementation,” said Macapobre.

Records of DSWD showed that in 2013, DSWD6 was able to obligate some P260 million on its Pantawid Pamilya program implementation; processed the release of cash grants to Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries amounting to P1.9 billion covering Period 6 of 2012 (November and December) until Period 5 of 2013 (September-October 2013).

In 2013, DSWD6 also conducted three capability building trainings for Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries, four for program partners, and five for program staff. (DSWD6/ Alma Jornadal-Estember)
