VOLUNTEERS coming from different organizations trooped at the DSWD Field Office VI compound to help in repacking of goods.
Per record of the agency, fifteen organizations, aside from individuals, joined the repacking of goods since Wednesday afternoon. For Engr. Bonifrancis Paulite of SSVP, helping in the repacking of goods is her way of making the victims feel that they are not alone in facing the tragedy.
“We are used to this kind of work. In our simple way, we want to make them feel a bit better. We also want to show them the spirit of solidarity…that we are all in this together.”
Odelia Valensoy of SRDC said, “I am happy to be of help.” She, along with her husband and two children came at the compound on Sunday.
Pastor Sagrado Policarpio from a religious organization, in the same way, said that he felt, “fulfilled because it is God’s opportunity to help.”
