Why Community‐Driven
 Development approach?
Community Driven Development (CDD) approaches
have
 been
proven
to
be
effective
in
empowering
 communities,
especially
 the
 poor,
 to
 participate
 in
 governance
 to
 ensure
 that
 their
 needs
 are
 properly
 addressed
 and
 that
resources
 are
 allocated
 and
 used for
 these
 needs.
 At
 the
 same
 time,
 CDD
 supports
 poor
 LGUs
 in
 local
development.
 Through
 participatory
processes,
LGUs
become
more
effective
leaders
in
addressing
the
needs
 of
 the
 community
 while
 community
 members
 are
 empowered
 to participate
 in
 governance
 and
 demand
 social
accountability
 from
 their
leaders.
