JORDAN, Guimaras-The DSWD6-Municipal Operations Office (MOO) of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Jordan, Guimaras successfully conducted a Parent Leaders’ Training for both incumbent and newly selected Parent Leaders at the Old Conference Hall, Municipality of Jordan, Guimaras yesterday.

The activity was attended by 30 participants and was made possible through the support of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

The training was facilitated by Chanderlyn I. Rile, Family Development Session (FDS) Focal Person from the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), together with Ms. Maricel V. Robles, Social Welfare Officer III.

One of the highlights of the training was the Mapangbata session entitled “Strengthening the Relationship with Your Child”, which emphasized the importance of building strong, healthy, and nurturing relationships between parents and their children.

The session underscored the value of open communication, active listening, empathy, affection, and spending quality time together as essential components in promoting children’s emotional, social, and psychological well-being. Participants were encouraged to foster a home environment where children feel safe, valued, respected, and supported.

The discussion also highlighted the significance of positive parenting practices in promoting the holistic development of children. Parents and caregivers were encouraged to guide their children with patience, understanding, and encouragement while strengthening family relationships through meaningful interactions, consistent support, and positive discipline.

The Parent Leaders actively participated in the discussions and shared their experiences and insights, demonstrating their commitment to becoming effective role models and advocates of responsible parenting within their respective communities.
