166 families enjoy an early Christmas blessing
PATNONGON, Antique (Sustainability) – Almost 11 days before Christmas eve, 166 recipients from Brgy. Magsaysay in this town, received early Christmas treat from Antique Medical Center Inc. (AMC) in partnership with the Antique Provincial Operations Office (POO) over the weekend.
Of the number, 39 recipients were 4Ps beneficiaries who received free medical consultation and medicines during the outreach program with the theme “Givers of Hope, Bringers of Light”. Also, part of the activity was the discussion of Mother- Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (MBFHI) Coordinator Jenny Rose M. Villaruz, on the First 1000 days of life (F1KD) with emphasis on importance of breastfeading to lactating mothers and to those with 0-2 year-old children.
Meanwhile, Evelyn R. Aguilar, SPC Hospital Administrator extended her appreciation to the DSWD-4Ps Antique POO for the successful activity.
“I would like to thank the DSWD-4Ps Antique for recommending this barangay. Actually, it was the DSWD through Provincial Link Jeffrey G. Gabucay that we came over for this medical mission. We hope to have a lasting partnership with them and also to this barangay. Hopefully, this will not end for this Christmas season only”, she said.
Aguilar added that after this the AMC has been planning to have an adopted barangay to align its vision.
As a response, Barangay Kagawad Hon. Josephine B. Malparta conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to the AMC and Antique POO for choosing their barangay as the beneficiary of the outreach activity. The event concluded with parlor games for parents and children, followed by gift-giving for every family, truly embodying the spirit of Christmas.
