ILOILO – Jerry E. Estrellanes of Brgy. Buga, Igbaras, Iloilo has graduated magna cum laude at Iloilo Science and Technology (ISAT) La Paz Campus in Iloilo City last year. He took the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

He is now reviewing in preparation for the board examination this year while he is still working as a houseboy in Villa, Iloilo City.

Jerry, 28, has been working as a houseboy for almost five years already after he graduated high school. His mother Marjorie is a plain housewife while his father Jose is a farmer. Both parents cannot sustain his college fees because of financial constraints. This is the reason why he grabbed the opportunity to be a working student when the job was offered to him by a friend.

Fortunately, Jerry’s family has been included as a beneficiary of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Through this, his parents were able to send his two other siblings to school.
