DSWD 6 through its Sustainable Livelihood Program conducts an Orientation on SLP Modalities and Processes for the Provision of Livelihood Assistance to intended beneficiaries of the EO 70 s. 2018.
Implementing partners from the national government agencies (NGAs) including TESDA, DOLE, DTI and OPAPP joined the activity. Representatives from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Offices from six provinces of Western Visayas were also present.
This activity aims to present the regional targets and implementation plans and provide venue for complementation initiatives from the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) in relation to the implementation of EO 70.
“DSWD FO 6’s membership to the different RTF-ELCAC Clusters is geared towards the provision of social protection services in achieving the objectives of EO 70 especially to its target beneficiaries,” says Assistant Regional Director for Operations Delia V. Bagolcol during her opening message.
Executive Order No. 70 or “Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and Directing the Adoption of a National Framework” was issued by President Duterte last December 2018.
This contains principles, policies, plans and programs that will bring inclusive and sustainable peace and address the root causes of insurgencies and armed conflicts in identified areas. It shall be responsive to local needs and follows a localized peace engagement mechanism./dswd6
