AKLAN — A total of P1.4 million was released to 548 beneficiaries of Modified Conditional Cash Transfer for Indigenous Peoples (MCCT-IPs) under the Cash for Work (CFW) program in Madalag, Aklan.

The CFW program includes clearing and brushing of barangay roads, canal and pathways with minimum wage rate of P323.50/day for eight days only.

According to MCCT-IPs Focal Christian Baldonasa, the program helps to expand opportunities for the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors which is one of the mandates of the Department.

Nabas couple Urbano,81, and Florenda, 76, of Brgy. Panipiason, said they are both happy to receive the cash money of P 5, 176 as it would be a big help for their medicines and food. They added that their children are also Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries which is a big help in sending their grandchildren in school and keeping them healthy.//dswd6. MGC
